Short Stories

 I enjoy reading short stories especially when I am in a reading slump. When I have read a good book, I am usually lost as what to read next. ( Especially when the previous book has set a pretty high bar) Short stories are excellent then. Since you do not have to read a hundred pages just to know your character's backstory. You don't have to spend a lot of time on Short stories.

Short stories are usually composed of 500- 5000 words. In these few pages, they grab your attention, make you invested in the story and provide you with a satisfactory ending.(Not always, mind you)

As much as I enjoy reading short stories, I enjoy writing them too. Although the task seems quite difficult with English being my second language, still I do write them sometimes.

If you have some time to kill and don't want to read a lengthy victorian novel ( with three and a half page only describing the view of the street from the window upstairs), you should also take up short stories.
