I have read quite a number of books recently. However there were few that deserved a five star rating but there were also some books that disappointed me so much I didn't even want to write their reviews. Following are the few books that made it difficult to read them as well as review them forvarious reasons.
If you could see the sun
Alice Sun is the only scholarship student of the elite school of Arington. However financial crisis befalls her family and they can’t afford to keep up with upper class of Arington. Probably due to the stress and anxiety of the misfortune that awaits her, Alice suddenly finds out that she can turn invisible.
The only good thing good thing about this
book is Henry Li. The academic rival
with a posh British accent and immaculate fashion sense. IYKYK. Otherwise, I
personally think that the protagonist was a wee bit dumb. Also, too many plot
holes. Her invisibility powers just stop one day and no one wonders why. I get
the metaphor but still. I would question it if I was regularly turning
invisible and one day I just stopped for once and all
Just for the summer
Abby Jimanez novel. Essentially the same story but with different font. Two people facing too much pressure from life, suffering from mental illness, fall in love, make each other better, live happily ever after.
It’s a nice summer read if you want
something lighthearted and want to kill some time.
All the bright places
This book reminded me why I stopped reading
YA. The story is good. The character portrayal is awesome. The end is so sad
that I cried even though I knew what was gonna happen. Violet never moves on
from the accident that took her sister’s life. Finch has always been the weird
kid nobody talk to. When both encounter each other, an unlikely friendship
blooms.
Theres this concept of a Jovian Plutonian
gravitational effect mentioned in this book. Needless to say I was obsessed with astronomy for weeks after
reading this. This was the best part of the book. Also if you’re planning to
read this, check out the trigger warnings also. There’s a reason they described
this book as the fault in our stars meet Eleanor and park.
How to solve your own murder
The titles great. So is the story. The only disappointment? I guessed the killer. Took the fun out of it.
Frances Adams is at an English country fair
with her two best friends. when a
fortune-teller makes a bone-chilling prediction about Frances’ murder, Frances
spends a lifetime trying to solve a crime that hasn’t happened yet. For
decades, no one takes Frances seriously, until nearly sixty years later, when
Frances is found murdered, like she always said she would be.
In the present day, Annie Adams has been summoned the estate of her wealthy
great-aunt Frances. But by the time Annie arrives in the English village of
Castle Knoll, Frances is already dead. Annie is determined to catch the killer,
but it seems every endearing and eccentric villager might just have a motive
for her murder. Can Annie safely unravel the dark mystery at the heart of
Castle Knoll, or will dredging up the past throw her into the path of a killer?
Betting on you
Classic lynn painter. Light hearted story.
Two teenagers. Opposites attracts. Less romance more adventure. Too many taylor
Swift references. (don’t get me wrong, I loved them).
