Good Bad Girl

A wretched tale of mothers and daughters and their atrocious fate.

20 years ago, a baby is stolen from a mother. 20 years later a women is murdered in a nursing home. Somehow both murders are linked.

Patience works in a nursing home where she befriends Edith, a kind but clever old woman who was tricked into the care home by her own children. Edith has a daughter, Clio with whom Edith's relations were wrecked sometime ago.

When Clio visits Edith, Edith makes it clear that she no longer wants to keep any contact with her. Edith is secretly planning her escape with the help of Patience yet what Edith doesn't know is that Patience is lying to her.......about everything.

I'd say that out of all Alice Feeney's books, this one ranks the lowest. No doubt it was full of twist and turns and the plot twists so many times that for a while you become confused.

The story is good, not very impressive but the way in which it is written is extremely confusing. Daisy Darker and Rock Paper Scissor both were confusing but the plot was so captive, I couldn't just put them away. Yet it took me almost a month to read this book. The start was slow and tedious. The book doesn't pick pace until almost the 2nd half.

Overall the book gets 2.5 stars.
