Yours Truly

Dr. Briana Ortiz’s life has turned awfully dismal. Her divorce is almost finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants is seriously in doubt because of a certain Dr.Death who has just joined the memorial, killed 7 patients already and has probably pulled some strings to play the game in his favour.

Briana hates him because he's rude, awful and he yelled at her for knocking into him when she was actually in a hurry to see a patient. But the problem is, everybody else loves him.

Dr. Jacob Maddox's life is now a roller coaster that only goes down. If that's possible. His fiance broke up with him and he switched hospitals but it's not his fault he got all almost-dead patients on the first day and also the other beautiful doctor knocked into him and broke his mobile phone and didn't even apologize. But still he feels bad for yelling at her and poking into her personal space. So he does what he does the best. He writes her a letter.

Briana is actually impressed when she reads the letter. And it’s a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn’t actually Satan. Worse, he might be this fantastically funny and s likeable guy who’s terrible at first impressions.

Because suddenly he and Bri are exchanging letters, sharing lunch dates in her “sob closet,” and discussing the merits of freakishly tiny horses. But when Jacob decides to give Briana the best gift imaginable—a kidney for her brother—she wonders just how she can repay this kind and beautiful man -- and things take quite a turn when he also needs a favour and Brianna cannot possibly refuse. Because she's under his debt? Or because she just can't resist him?

I have never enjoyed a romance book this much. This was just so eloquently written. There wasn't any insta-love or lust driving and it was just so pure. And there were so many tropes!!! Fake dating? Shy x confidant? Enemies to friends to lovers? Sunshine x light rain (cuz Jacob isn't grumpy at all) . You name it!

Also I love the way the book highlighted the mental dilemmas of our protagonists. Jacob had anxiety and I assure you people with anxiety have the same thought process as Jacob. And also I'm glad someone understands that we introverts wanna be invited but we don't wanna come. Also not all introverts are necessarily nerds or geeks.

Brianna had trust issues and PTSD and the way she was handled was really remarkable. Overall the book should be given a solid five stars because I just couldn't stop smiling through most of it.
