The Friendly Mortal

The Davidsons are a happy family. Mr. Davidson is a successful businessman and he has raised his daughter well. His three daughters Caroline, Catherine and Christine are all decent, modest young women.

Soon, Charles, the son of Mr. Davidson's friend is invited to live with them for his study and before long he falls heads over heels in love with Christine. However Mr. Davidson does not approve of Charles nor he likes Christine focusing more on her writing skills instead of her studies.

But once a mysterious plague begins to haunt the family, Christine must figure out a solution before things get out of hand. A killer is on the loose and nobody is safe.

The uncanny circumstances forces the whole family to deal with their privy issues and ultimately uncover some dark secrets and lies.

Reading this book gave me similar vibes to classic literature like "Little Women" & "Emma".

The book tries to highlight how abusive and truculent upbringing mars the mental, emotional and psychological state of a person permanently.

Madiha is a an emerging writer from Pakistan. This is her first book and she is currently writing another one. The good thing about the book is how simple and apprehensible the language is. This is a great first attempt by Madiha and kudos to her for making it this far.

The book is available on Amazon for purchase.
