Book review: The summer of Broken rules

Initially I started to read this book because I thought it was set in Italy but it wasn't. It is set in Martha's vineyard, USA.

Well, Meredith is going to spend her holidays in Martha's vineyard, where the friends and family meet every year for a grand reunion. However Meredith hasn't gone to the vineyard or talked to any of her friends and cousins after the death of her elder sister in an accident.

Still recovering from grief, Meredith and her family decide to go to the Family gathering to attend the wedding of her cousin, Sarah.

At this gathering, Meredith meets Wit, the groomsman.

Things start to get fun, when Sarah announces that everyone is going to play the traditional family game, "Assasin" and Meredith makes an unlikely alliance with Wit.

So Meredith is trying to win assasin and the heart of a groomsman in a week. That's the summary of the book.

The book deals with grief and loss and love. And overall the theme is cute.

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the book as much as I thought I would. I love YA summer fiction! I really do!

But the book seemed to be really wearisome. Everything felt tedious and it seems like what could be summed up in a few chapters drags for almost 400 pages. But it's a true YA romance story with a meet-cute and Taylor Swift references! So maybe try it!?
