Book Review: The Final Gambit

(P.S: Spoilers for the first two books)

The third and (most probably) the final installment in The Inheritance Games series, The Final Gambit will take you on a roller coaster of achingly surreal emotions.

Avery Grambs is so very near to inherit the entire fortune of the billionaire Tobias Hawthorne. But the question still remains.....

Why choose her instead of his four competent and meritorious grandsons?

Everything appeared fine until an estranging news knocked at the door.Toby has been captured and tables are turned when instead of solving one of the old man's puzzle, the Hawthornes find themselves clueless against an unacquainted nemesis.

Finally we get the answer to why Avery was chosen as the successor, instead of the Hungry-for-the-Thrill Jameson or the Ultimate Heir Apparent Grayson.

The book is the paramount mixture of sinister family secrets, illicit love stories and intoxicating mysteries and riddles. But I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the first two books. The writer hasn't done justice to Grayson. And there is news that there might be another book incoming in the series about the Hawthorne brothers. If that is the case, I hope Barnes will compensate for this terrible Grayson storyline and give us some good twists and turns like she did in the first book.

"I was angry with a friend,

I told my wrath, my wrath did end.

I was angry with a foe,

I told it not, my wrath did grow"
