Unfortunately that hasn't been the case with any of us but that has happened to Avery Grambs. Avery leads an ordinary life until she learns that Tobias Hawthorne (The Billionaire) has left all his assets to her. Despite having four exceptionally ingenious grandsons, Mr. Hawthorne has made Avery his heir.
But why leave everything to a random girl? Why not make one of his grandsons his heir?
This dark tale is not so simple as it seems. A string of mysteries and puzzles await Avery at the mansion at which she has to stay to inherit all the fortune.
The book is wonderfully served with a seasoning of gothic mystery. The best thing is that despite being a modern day thriller the Hawthorne house feels nothing less than Count Dracula's residence in Transylvania with all its secret passages and hideaways.
The story also features a love triangle. Although I am not fond of love triangles but I think this one's quit decent and intriguing. The book is perfect for the fans of "One of us is lying" as it is equally twisty and addictive. This book quickly made its space in my favorites list.
