Best Books of 2023

I have never made new year resolutions about book reading. Its always just been a hobby. Still, I managed to read 30 books this year which I guess is not too bad. Though it is still less than last year. I read a lot of different genres this year to broaden my horizons and honestly it been fun. So here is a quick recap of some of the books I’ve read:

1- Tomorrow & tomorrow & tomorrow

I have seen so many negative reviews about this book and most of them even seem perfectly logical. Yet I absolutely loved this book which explored different forms of love expressed in a variety of different ways.

2- The Only One Left

The second book of this author I’ve ever read. Also, the best book of this author I’ve ever read. So many twists and turns. It is not written in the usual thriller writing style which just makes it a100 times more interesting. Inarguably the best thriller of this year. (no matter how much goodreaders love The Housemaid)

3- Remarkably Bright Creatures

The only reason you need to read this book is a single fact. “one of the main characters is an octopus”

For some reason I expected this book to be just average. But it was so good. I cried at the end. Although it wasn’t that emotional ending. Still, it was beautiful.

4- Yours Truly

The best romance ever. Maybe I liked it so much was because it was way too much realistic. Still, it just solidified my view that realistic scenarios can also be enjoyed. Also, the mains characters mental illness was so nicely represented. I assure you anxiety feels the way, it was written feels like.

5- Fourth Wing

It’s been such a long time since I’ve enjoyed a fantasy this much. So cool. The sequel is out now but I haven’t gotten it on my hands yet. But the ending was pretty meh for me. what I liked about the book was that it included normal humans with super powered dragons…but somewhere in the middle Rebecca Yarrors was just like let’s make this book similar to all other YA fantasy books written in the history of mankind.

6- Lessons in Chemistry

I could write a 10 page essay on this book. I loved this book. I always hated chemistry. And I still do hate it. this book had no impact whatsoever on my hatred for chemistry. But how beautiful the story was. No matter how much the suffering is, people either get a happy ending or learn to be happy even with the suffering.

Although I read way many other good books, I can't possibly write about them at the moment. (probably beacuase I am already reading more books) but still, I have generally, generally summarised the absolute live wires here.
